Fight like a TIGER!

Kung fu is known for styles inspired by animals, but it is not only a number of kungfu styles which were inspired by the animal kingdom, animal styles also play a part in some of the martial arts from India, Burma and Indonesia.

One popular animal style is the tiger. In kungfu the tiger claw is used for striking with the palm, while the fingers are used to scratch, tear and poke. In this manner it is similar to techniques used in krav maga.

The tiger style is a ferocious style based on power and aggression.  The palm of the hand is less vulnerable than the knuckles and for this reason, one can strike full force with the tiger claw, without injuring one self, as most people would with a closed fist.

The following movements were improvised, may they inspire you to connect with your own tiger spirit
